do thinning shears cut off hair?

i have thick hair and i want to thin it out but i don’t want to cut it off…
so i was wondering if thinning shears cut off my hair or not?

thinning shears will cut hair off (not length, but hair), the shears have slots so that only certain hair is cut, it will give you layers, however, i don’t recommend cutting it yourself, go to a salon, even a cheap salon like super cuts or great clips and they will do it for a good price too, all you have to do is tell them you want it thinned out or layered and that you don’t want any length taken off, also a razor cut will do the same thing, the stylist will know what the best tools are to use for your hair type.

Buy a razor comb and cut a bunch of your hair off and it’ll look like layers (:

I get my hair thinned out by my hair dresser every hair cut I get because I have kinda thick hair. It doesn’t cut it off. It kinda of rips part of your hair out but it doesn’t really hurt. I would suggest getting it done because it does do a good job of making your hair less poofy and big. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t get my hair thinned lol. Try it, I’m sure you’ll like the results. But make sure to have your hair dresser do it don’t do it yourself lol.

Thinning shears look like regular shears with numerous slots in both blades, so when they close, they only cut the hair where the blades are intact, this is what thins the hair without cutting it all off. So, yes they do cut off hair. I suggest you be very carefull with them, so you don’t totally mess up your hair!

PS a lot of guys think women with thick, luxurious hair are very attractive, so you might think twice about doing this.
