Yep they definately work or professional salons wouldn't use them. You have to use them on dry hair only, or they will take out HUGE chucks if it is wet. Don't cut too close to your scalp or short little hairs will stick out and I'm sure you don't want that. Cut about 2 inches away from your scalp and then brush out the cut hair. Oh and don't cut on the top layer of hair or you will get a lot of flyaways. Good luck!!! They work very well in blending very blunt lines in the hair as well.

Will getting my hair cut with thinning shears be OK?

I have naturally thick curly and poofy hair. *perms dont work* when i straighten it its good, just super thick. I want to get my hair cut with thinning shears while its straightened so it will look good. is this a good idea? suggestions?!
There's no problem in getting your hair thinned w/ thinning shears, it doesn't matter if your hair is straight or curly when it's done. You can't get your very ends cut w/ thinning shears of course, because they will look too thin & scraggle, so your split ends will have to get cut off w/ regular shears. Some people thin hair w/ a "razor", do not let your stylist do that. People who try to straighten their curly hair should not get their hair thinned w/ a razor because it will cause the hair to curl more.
